Robert Anthony Quijada
February 26, 1965 - January 13, 2025
It is with a heavy heart and grief that we announce the passing of our Son, Robert (Bob) Quijada, who left us on January 13, 2025. After a long and painful illness his Lord and savior called him home.
Bob was born in Bakersfield and graduated from Bakersfield High School where he excelled in sports, pitched for the BHS Drillers. His Grandfather, Lee Quijada often compared him to the famous Dodger pitcher, Fernando Valenzula. Bob and his grandpa were inseparable.
Bob was gifted mechanically and a perfectionist in all his endeavors. His family and friends could always count on him to repair what needed to be fixed or replaced.
Bob played a key role as Soundman in his father’s musical career. I often reminded Bob that he had control of our music quality, thus for many years our fans appreciated 'LOS DOS' Oldies but Goodies music, which Bob was a big part of our success. I will miss our special Soundman.
Bob is survived by his son Robert Quijada Jr. and daughter Eboni Alvarez, and grandchildren. Father Manuel Quijada, stepmother Gloria Quijada. Mother Margaret Mogensen, Brothers Manuel 'Chris' Quijada, Ricardo Quijada, Half-brother Matthew Mogensen, and Half-sister Tonie Mogensen Flores. Aunts and Uncles, Nephews, Nieces and Cousins, close friends, who loved him and will always hold him near and dear to their heart.
Bob is preceded in death by his loving grandparents Lee and Tillie Quijada, Vicente and Ysidra Castillo. Stepbrother Arthur 'Sonny' Rambaud and Stepbrother Steven Rambaud.
