Richard Val Kirkland

April 18, 1972 to March 4, 2025

Born in Bakersfield, CA to Peggy Val and Richard Kirkland. Leaves behind his mother and sister, R. Evalee Kirkland that he continually protected, (she called it bossing…he called it protection)! 😊

Single, Richie never married, not that he didn’t want to be, but reserved his heart for the right woman.

No children of his own but was able to bring joy to many through his clown work donating to many children’s community events.

Loved by many from Kampala, Uganda, Canada, Peru, and the United States, Richie will be sorel missed.

Richie followed in his dad’s footsteps with the love of music, being a drummer. He loved sports, (baseball and racing). When he was younger he got a taste for speed in the outdoors with Off Road Vehicles…first 3 Wheeler made by Mattel with red wheels and blue handlebars, Go-Carts and motorcycles, trading a fast woman for a faster car…LOL

Richie was known as “Richie Do,” ”Rich Love,” ”The Love Broker”…..and fondly nicknamed “Skittles” by his beloved cousin Montye Dee.

Richie is also known as “Son” by our Loving Lord and Father God. Richie gave his heart to Jesus at 10 years of age, never looking back. Even when Richie slipped, He continued to witness the love of Christ through Holy Scriptures. Regardless of the setting, time, or occasion, being called “The Holy Ghost Magnet” for many years, Richie never failed to share the Love of God and the redemptive work of the Cross to all who would listen, even following people behind dumpsters to complete his message of the Love of God. Richie never let go of the Nail Scarred Hand that leads us to the presence of God. Richie believed in the power of Unity and engaged his prayer partner, his Aunt Sue Wilson, to war in the heavenly battles on behalf of others.

After diagnosis with esophageal/gastric cancer and treatment that ravaged his physical body, Richie continued to give his total man in his faith for healing and ministering to the lost and broken from his sickbed. Richie was called home Tuesday, March 4th at 2:00 PM, surrounded by his loving family after praying for Peace to be carried by the Holy Angels into Our Father’s Eternal Arms.

**Special thank you to SOLACE Home Health Care, RN’s: Layla, Patty, Mace, PAZ and the biggest thank you to Jeff, Richie’s Physical Therapist who instilled so much hope to “FIGHT ON!”

Thank you to Pastor Craig Amos/City View Church; Pastor Eddie Summers/Grace Assembly, and Pastor Max Van Dyke/Kingdom Harvest Alliance
