Monica Marie Valenzuela

Monica Marie Valenzuela, affectionately known as Moni, passed away on June 23, 2024, in Bakersfield, CA, at the age of 49. Born on April 21, 1975, Moni was known for her vibrant, wild spirit and a heart full of love for her extensive family and God.

 Moni is survived by an adoring family, including her grandmother, Alice Perez; aunts, Betty, Emily, Lydia and Manuelita "Nellie";  uncles, Raymond, Rudy, and Tony; siblings, Melissa, Joe “Jay,” Trinidad “Honey,” Vera, and Thomas; and her children, Venessa, Breanna, Priscilla, Juan III, Johnathan, and Isaiah. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Moni was preceded in death by her grandfather Ramon Reyes Perez, her mother Irene Perez, and her presumed father Joe Duran Jr. 

A memorial service to honor Moni's life will be held on July 17th, 2024, at 11 am at Upper Room Church, 1820 Baker Street. The service will be followed by a Celebration of Life from 1 pm to 5 pm at Patino Hall, 425 30th Street. Moni's loved ones remember her as a heartwarming individual whose life was a testament to the power of redemption and grace. Her legacy of love and spirited nature will be fondly remembered and missed.
